Black Friday

"Alice & the Caterpillar Antiqued Brass Earrings"

Hi all of you Enchanted Squirrel Enthusiasts out there!!  It is Black Friday & I sit safely @ home, near the fire, still digesting my food from yesterday!  The older I get, the less I enjoy the crowds of Black Friday.  I am making the majority of my gifts this year (one of the benefits of having a shop & being a crafter!).  I just wanted to do a quick post & let everyone know that next weekend (December 3rd & 4th) Enchanted Squirrel will be participating as a vendor in Bazaar Bizarre Holiday Show in San Francisco!!  This is an exciting honor for us & we are crazily preparing for it.  The show is free to the public & it is one of the largest shows in the country for handmade Indie Crafters.  If you are looking for special, unique, handmade, high quality goods, then this is the place to be.  Just visit www.bazaarbizarre.org/sf for more info.  You can see a list of vendors & their websites.  Also, Enchanted Squirrel was featured in their blog, so take a look @ that too!!  Well, I will leave you with a few pictures of some new goodies we have just finished making.  Then I think the couch is calling for a midday nap by the fire, so I can rejuvenate & get back to crafting!!  I hope everyone had a great Turkey Day & anyone in the Northern California Area, do make some time to come check out the show.  And please don’t leave until you stop by our booth (#38) & meet us!!  If you tell me you read this post, I’ll give you 20% off of your entire purchase!!  Tiddly-Loo

Hi again all of my craft-lovin’ friends!  I have been a little remiss in my posting, due to the fact that Mom & I are busy getting ready for The Gravenstein Apple Fair, which is a big show for us.  Some of you may be familiar with our Fairytale Handbag Collection.  It features fabric from Heather Ross’ Far Far Away II Collection & there are 3 Fairytales to choose from:  The Owl & the Pussycat, Sleeping Beauty & Rapunzel.  Each character design comes in a variety of different colors & coordinating fabrics.  The Collection was recently featured in Haute Handbag Magazine, April 2011……we were so excited!!  However, many of our customers have been asking us when we are going to design a larger bag for the collection??  Well, we have finally gotten it done!  Introducing the Fairytale Messenger Bag Collection!!!!  It comes in the same Fairytale Designs & colors of our handbag collection & beginning in September we will be receiving our shipment of Heather Ross’ Far Far Away III Fabric……another amazing line!  This new fabric will add a sweet Cowgirl playing with toy horses and also the much anticipated Snow White & the 7 Dwarves!!  It will be a great addition to our sewn goods……we can’t wait for it to arrive!!  Our new Messenger Bags are very versatile in that they could also be used as a Book Bag for Back-to-School or even a Diaper Bag.  They are big & roomy & fit comfortably over the shoulder.  So, the waiting is finally over & we hope you love them!!  Check out our Etsy Store to purchase them.  Oh…..& don’t forget……if you love the bag but don’t care for Fairytales (shame on you!!), just email us with a request for the bag in other fabric choices…..we love special orders!!  We hope to see some of you in person @ the Gravenstein Apple Fair in Sebastopol, California, August 13th & 14th.  Talk to you soon……..XXXOOO Julie-Ann

Hi all of you Enchanted Squirrel Friends out there!!  Mom & I are continually creating new items for our shop.  Some folks choose to focus on one particular type of handmade item……their “forte” so to speak.  We prefer to try different things & see what our customers like.  I would like to think that nearly anyone can come into our shop & find something they like…..or @ least something someone they know will like!  With that in mind, we have finally gotten around to making our first decorative pillows.  We have chosen to start with a 16×16 pillow form (nice size……looks good on a couch).  The casing is done in an envelope style, making it easy to remove, wash, dry & replace.  I have discovered that I love to fabric shop & I tend to have an eye for great, high quality fabrics.  I like fabrics by Kokka, Alexander Henry, Anna Maria Horner & of course Heather Ross, to name some off the top of my head.  A few years back I bought mom a Baby Loc Sewing Machine.  Like a lot of the newer machines, it has all of these wonderful decorative stitches, which we have become addicted to!!  So, of course, we decided to trim our new pillows with mom’s favorite tried & true decorative stitch.  So, without further adieu (sp??) here is our first batch…….Hope you like them!!!

p.s.  If you must purchase them I just listed them in our Etsy Shop.  Just click on the link to the right & it will take you right there……Enjoy!!

Hi Everyone!!  Welcome to the 1st post of Enchanted Squirrel!  My name is Julie-Ann & along with my mom, Billie, we run our little online shop known as “Enchanted Squirrel”!  If you read the “About” info you already know our backstory, so I won’t bore you with that again.  Currently our shop is very busy.  Summer provides a lot of opportunities to meet our customers in person, & spread the word about who we are & what we do.  Currently you can see us @ the Farmer’s Market in Cotati, California on Thursday evenings from 4:30-7:30.  We are also busy getting ready for the Gravenstein Apple Fair in Sebastapol, California, which is the 2nd weekend in August.  We currently have 2 sites where you can peruse & purchase our goodies online:  www.enchantedsquirrel.etsy.com & www.enchantedsquirrel.com.  Our items are currently in a boutique in White Horse, Yukon in Canada, if you happen to be traveling up that way.  As you can probably tell, I have never blogged before & am still trying to figure out what I am doing!  So, hopefully you will be patient as I learn the ropes.  I’ll leave you with a few pictures of our recent work & look forward to meeting you & getting to know you.  Our customers are most important to us.  If there is anything you would like to know or make for you, just ask & we will see what we can do.  Have a lovely day & Happy Summer!!
